Cessna 208 Caravan with 5-blade MT-Propeller

Now certified for a power rating up to 950 shp

Atting, June 2024 - MT-Propeller received the EASA STC 10054488 REV. 1 for the Cessna 208 Caravan Model 208, 208B powered by the Honeywell TPE331-12JR propeller turbine with the QFJ 5-blade MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFRL270-66 MT-Propeller.

With this revision the Cessna 208, 208B with the 5-blade MT-Propeller is now certified for a power rating up to 950shp. The revision of the FAA STC is in progress.

MT-Propeller have received EASA’s STC for the Cessna 208 Caravan Model 208, 208B powered by Honeywell’s TPE331-12JR propeller turbine, to be equipped with their QFJ 5-blade Prop.

MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht says, that the installation of the 5-blade MT-Prope on the Cessna 208 features the following advantages:

- 60 % vibration reduction on aircraft fuselage
- Approximately14 kg (31 lbs) less weight than the original propeller
- Ground roll reduced by 10% approximately 50 m (164 ft)
- Climb improved by 5-8%
- Unbeatable esthetic ramp appeal
- All models comply with the strict German noise regulations 2010– „Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung“ for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European Countries! .

Due to the smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the Cessna 208 has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion and FODs compared to the original propeller. The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of a FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
